Secure electronic IDs (eIDs) can make digital transactions, both in-person and online, more efficient, secure, and convenient. The European Commission has set a goal of getting at least 80 percent of Europeans to use eIDs by 2030, but existing efforts by member states have been lagging. To accelerate adoption and increase interoperability, the Commission has proposed a new regulation to establish a common framework for eIDs and related digital identity services across the EU, expanding and refining the existing eIDAS regulation.

Join the Center for Data Innovation for a panel discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed regulation, the proper role of the public and private sector in delivering identity services, and insights on how Europe can foster the adoption of eIDs.
