SUMMARY:Securing AI from itself: how to address cybersecurity for AI and AI for cybersecurity
DESCRIPTION:As AI becomes more pervasive in society, and especially in industrial uses, securing AI becomes a fundamental requirement for success. AI tools can bring immense benefits to improve cybersecurity, bringing scale and innovation to traditional cybersecurity. Conversely, AI can also become a fundamental tool for threat actors, who are increasingly able to leverage AI for more and more sophisticated attacks. AI itself is a key target for cybersecurity attacks, and developers and deployers will have to ensure that the AI systems and models they deploy are secure and resilient. The EU AI Act provides for cybersecurity requirements, and includes language clarifying the role of AI for cybersecurity. With the upcoming Cloud and AI Development Act seeking to stimulate AI adoption, this session will discuss the operational status of AI Security, the AI Act implementation and the coming challenges and opportunities brought by EU investments in building AI infrastructure.
