Since July 2017, Mr. Ogi has served as Director of Europe Center, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and is working on promotion of international cooperation between NICT and research institutes and industry groups in Europe.
Prior to this, Mr. Ogi was working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and Cabinet Secretariat in Japan and engaging in policy making for telecommunications business and consumer protection, e.g., establishment of the Consumer Affairs Agency and Japan ICT Fund, and revision of the anti-spam law. He was also the first secretary as telecommunications attaché in the embassy of Japan in Germany.
Mr. Ogi received a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tokyo in 2000.
