Our Forum is independent, non-profit and non-partisan. Our activities are financed exclusively by the annual fees paid by our Business Members and Associate Members according to an inclusive and transparent fee structure. As a neutral platform, we do not accept individual sponsorship for specific activities.

Political membership is free and open to current Members of the European Parliament from all political groups who are active in digital policy and subscribe to the EIF mission. Political members can join and lead our activities, and oversee the development of our programme. A list of all current Political members can be found here.
Membership can be terminated by resignation or otherwise ceases automatically at the end of the MEP mandate.
Applications are reviewed for formal approval by our Steering Committee. Please contact our Secretariat for further information.
Business membership is open to companies active in Europe who subscribe to the EIF mission. We continuously seek to expand the breadth and depth of sectors and services within our membership. A list of all current Business members can be found here.
Please note that applicants must be registered on the EU Transparency Register and their representatives must be able to access the European Parliament premises on their own.
Business membership annual fees
For new members, fees are applied pro rata for the first year from the date of notification of membership. Membership is automatically renewed at the beginning of every year, unless notice of resignation is given to the Secretariat by 1st November of the previous year.

The EIF bylaws lay down policies for professional services firms such as consultancy companies and law firms.
*as per EU recommendation 2003/361, companies with less than 250 employees on their payroll, an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euros and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding 43 million euros, and no more than one third of their capital owned directly or indirectly by a larger company.

Associate members can be represented at EIF activities by their staff members and by their Board members. Board members represent the Associate member organisation and no others.

Apply for membershipIf you are a senior official of the European Commission, European Council Secretariat, EU Member State Permanent Representations, other EU institutions and Third Country Missions you can ask to become part of our wider network and to be invited to our events.
Requests are reviewed by our Secretariat.
All former MEPs who were EIF Political members during their tenure are welcome, upon request, to participate in our events (with the exception of internal meetings).
Former officials of other institutions may be invited on a case-by-case basis to an EIF event in light of the relevance of their previous responsibilities to the substance of the event.
The Steering Committee may recognise a former EIF member or other personalities who have made an exceptional contribution to EIF with the designation "Honorary member". Honorary members will be invited to participate in all EIF events, excluding internal meetings. Such participation is strictly in a personal capacity.
