Based on the report ‘The Digital World in 2025 - Indicators for European Action’ (2009), the 2030 report is available in time for next year’s European Parliament elections and a new Commission.
It is looking at the technology, economic, and socio-political dimensions of future digital trends and was presented on 18 March 2014.
Many experts have contributed to this project by participating as guest speakers in the Launch Event and in various EIF debates that followed.
In addition to the regular program of EIF debates, experts from all over the world, from the industry or academia, was invited to contribute to this foresight exercise with their knowledge and expertise. EIF members are kindly invited to indicate experts from their own organisations or from elsewhere who may be available to participate. Meetings will take place in Brussels either in person or as video conferences in the autumn and winter 2013 and will be open to all EIF members.
Peter Linton, EIF Advisor and principal author of the ‘Digital World in 2025’, together with EIF collaborator Ajit Jaokar, will write the ‘Digital World in 2030’ report based on output from EIF events.

Workshops focused on technological, economic and socio-political visions and emerging trends under the main theme ‘The Digital World in 2030: What Place for Europe?’.

On 27 November 2012, EIF held a brainstorm session on the 'Digital World in 2030: Toward the Age of Individual Empowerment?' together with the European Commission DG CONNECT. It was the kick-off exercise for the next edition of EIF's previous report ‘The Digital World in 2025 – Indicators for European Action' (2009).
