Dr. Angelika Winzig completed a PhD in Economics at the Vienna University of Economics between 1982 and 1989. Since 1997, she has been the managing partner at Powder Tech Dr. Winzig GmbH. She became a member of the European Parliament in 2019. From 2020 to 2024, she was the leader of the ÖVP delegation in the European Parliament. From 2013 to 2019, she served as a member of the Austrian National Parliament. Dr. Angelika Winzig was a member of the Federal Council of Austria from 2012 to 2013. Between 1990 and 1996, she worked as a marketing and strategy manager at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen. Since 2017, she has held the position of Deputy Chairwoman of the ÖVP Parliamentary Club. She has been the Vice-President of SME Europe, part of the European Economic Chamber, since 2011.

She served as the Chairwoman of the Vöcklabruck District Chamber of Commerce from 2004 to 2020.
