ABOUT

With more than 20-years’ experience in the field of Research and Innovation, SMEs and regional matters, built both at national and international level and in both public and private organisations (the last almost 20 years in the European Commission), Magda DE CARLI is Deputy Director for ‘ERA and Innovation policy’ in DG R&I at the European Commission and Head of the Unit ‘European Semester & Country Intelligence’. As such she is responsible to forge strong strategic bilateral partnerships with Member States to ensure adequate R&I investments and reforms and participation in the delivery of the renewed ERA policy, the New European Innovation Agenda and other EU R&I priorities, such as missions, partnerships or thematic initiatives. In particular, she is tasked with ensuring strong R&I dimension in the context of the European Semester, the Recovery and Resilience Plans and of Cohesion policy, including synergies with Horizon. She is also responsible for the Policy Support Facility, and promoter of the Enhanced dialogue with member state. Earlier, she headed the units in charge of ERA, Widening and SMEs. She has a Master Degree in Economics and over 20 years experience in R&I.
