Carlos Carus is Amazon Web Services (AWS) Education Ambassador for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is responsible for raising awareness of the of AWS Education offerings across the region, and inspiring the next generation of cloud talent. With a background as CTO and multiple AWS certifications, Carlos understands the power that cloud skills training holds in opening new horizons for individual learners, and in providing companies with the in-demand skills that drive innovation and transformation in the digital world.

Over the course of his 9 years at AWS Carlos has held a number of roles including Head of Technology for AWS Iberia. His work at AWS is united by his passion for the development and generation of digital talent, and how the democratization of technology fosters innovation in public entities, startups, and commercial companies. He is driven by the idea that when talent, innovation, culture and sustainability are brought together they can generate powerful business outcomes.

Carlos holds a Computing Science Degree from Oviedo University, along with AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate, and Solutions Architect Professional certifications. He currently lives in León, Spain.
