First counsellor - transport and telecommunications coordinator at the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU since November 2023, Alberto La Bella joined the Italian diplomatic service in 2005.

During his career he has served overseas at the Embassies of Italy in Nairobi (2008-2013), Brasilia (2013-2016) and London (2019-2023).

At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome he has worked in the Horn of Africa department (2005-2008) and in the Minister’s private office (2016-2019).
