As part of EIF's ‘Meet the CEO’ series, Members of the European Parliament, EIF Members and guests will have the opportunity to virtually meet Göran Marby, President and CEO of ICANN.
ICANN is the organization responsible for coordinating and implementing the rules for the Internet’s unique identifiers the Domain Name System (DNS), designed to make the Internet accessible to individuals throughout the world. Since the pandemic outbreak, the Internet has demonstrated its key role in supporting the resilience of our societies.
Mr. Marby will offer his views on how to make sure online threats are tackled while ensuring the Internet operations remain interoperable and single, as global reliance on the Internet grows. The discussion will also, from a technical standpoint, raise the recent important EU Digital initiatives (DSA, NIS2 directive, EU Cybersecurity Strategy) and their potential impact on the DNS.
